• Do you charge travel time or a call-out fee?
• Are you insured, and for what?
• What happens if it runs over the estimate?

• Move midweek and mid-month if you can. The last few days of the month are the busiest in the industry, everywhere.
• Book a few weeks out. Last-minute isn’t always dearer, but it limits your options.
• Get rid of things before, not after. You’re paying to move every box. The stuff you’re going to throw out in six months costs the same to shift as the stuff you’ll keep.
• Pull beds apart yourself if you’re able to. It’s twenty minutes and it saves us doing it on the clock.
• Mention if you’re a pensioner. We offer a discount and people forget to ask.
