Furniture Removalists Keysborough
Removalists in Keysborough: three suburbs in one
Keysborough is bigger and more varied than most suburbs we work in, and the move you get depends almost entirely on which part of it you’re in. Get that wrong when you book and the day runs long.
The older streets north of Cheltenham Road
This is the Keysborough that was built in the seventies and eighties. Brick veneer homes on generous blocks, wide streets, long driveways and a shed out the back that’s been quietly filling up for thirty years.
Access is the easy part here. The truck parks close and the carry is short. The problem is volume. These houses hold far more than people estimate over the phone, and the garage, the shed and the side of the house are almost always underquoted. If you’re in this part of Keysborough, walk us through the shed at quote time rather than describing it.
The newer estates in Keysborough South
The estates south of Cheltenham Road are the opposite problem. Double-storey homes on compact lots, streets built narrow, and once residents park on both sides there often isn’t width for a large truck to pass, let alone stop and load.
Courts are the tightest of all. A twelve-tonne truck can’t turn in most of them, which means reversing the length of the street or shuttling with something smaller. Both are manageable when we know beforehand. Neither is manageable when a crew arrives and works it out on the spot.
Add a staircase at one or both ends and these jobs take longer than the floor area suggests. An early start helps more here than almost anywhere, because before 8am the street is usually still clear.
The larger blocks toward Bangholme
Out toward the eastern and southern edges the blocks open up again, some of them semi-rural. More land, more outbuildings, more equipment, and often a long unsealed driveway that behaves differently in the wet. Worth mentioning when you book so we bring the right vehicle.
House removals in Keysborough
Most of our Keysborough work is full house removals, and a lot of it involves larger households than average. Keysborough has plenty of extended-family homes, and a five or six-bedroom move with three generations of belongings is a genuinely different job to a standard three-bedroom.
Getting that wrong is what turns a one-day move into two. We’d rather do a walk-through or a ten-minute video call than guess from a room count, because the bigger truck costs less than the second trip.
The older brick homes also have narrower internal doorways than modern furniture allows for. Our crews take doors off hinges and pull beds, wardrobes and lounges apart rather than forcing anything through and marking the architraves. That’s part of the job, not an extra.
What our Keysborough movers can do for you
Every job is different, but here’s what most Keysborough moves involve:
- Full house removals — our movers handle the packing, loading, transport and unloading, so you’re not lifting a box
- Local moves — within Keysborough or across the south-east, usually finished inside a day
- Townhouse and apartment moves — where shared driveways, allocated parking and body corporate notice all need sorting first
- Interstate removals — with our own crew loading and unloading rather than a depot handover partway
- Packing services — the whole house, or just the kitchen and the fragile things
- Storage — for when settlement dates don’t line up, which happens often on new-build handovers
- Commercial and office moves — including the warehouses through the Perry Road and Greens Road industrial pocket
- Awkward items — pool tables, safes, gym equipment, and pianos as a specialist job with the proper board and trolleys
Access, parking and getting a truck in
Keysborough has no train station, so everything here runs on road access, and two roads shape most of our jobs.
Cheltenham Road and Springvale Road both back up hard through the morning and evening peaks. A crew sitting in traffic is time on your invoice, so we set start times around it rather than hoping.
If parking is genuinely tight at your address, particularly in the newer estates, tell us when you book. Greater Dandenong Council can usually arrange a temporary parking permit for a removal with enough notice, and we’ll help you sort it.
Moving between Keysborough and nearby suburbs
Plenty of our Keysborough jobs don’t stay in Keysborough. The common runs are south toward the bay and south-east toward Cranbourne, and we cover both ends.
- Removalists in Carrum Downs — south-west, and the most frequent short run we do from here
- Furniture removals in Cranbourne — south-east, where a lot of Keysborough families upsize
- Removalists in Seaford — down the highway toward the bay
We’re based on the Mornington Peninsula, so a move from the south-east down toward the coast is ordinary work for us rather than a special trip.
What moving house in Keysborough costs
Local jobs are charged hourly, with the rate set by truck size and crew. Four things move the number:
- Volume. The biggest variable in older Keysborough, and it’s the shed and garage that catch people out.
- Access. The biggest variable in the newer estates. Street width, parking and whether a large truck can turn.
- Stairs. Standard in the double-storey estate homes, and they add real time.
- Packing. Whether you’ve done it or want us to.
Longer runs, including down to the Peninsula, are quoted as a fixed job so the number is settled before we start. Quotes are free, with no obligation.
Questions we get asked about moving in Keysborough
Can you get a truck into the newer estate streets?
Usually, with an early start before the street fills with parked cars. Where we can’t, we shuttle with a smaller vehicle. Give us the address at booking and we’ll plan it.
Do you charge extra to come to Keysborough?
It’s a standard service area for us and it’s quoted the same as anywhere else we work.
How much is in a typical Keysborough house move?
More than most people think, particularly in the older homes. The shed alone often adds an hour. That’s why we’d rather look at it than quote from a room count.
Can you move a five or six-bedroom home in one day?
Usually yes, with the right truck and enough crew. That’s the whole reason we ask about size properly upfront.
What if my new build isn’t finished on time?
Common around here. We’ll store your furniture securely, short or long term, and deliver when the place is actually ready.
Are you insured?
Fully insured, from the moment your things go on the truck until they’re set down at the other end.

Keysborough Removalists you can trust
Whole house moves
Three, four, five or six bedrooms, garage and shed included. Keysborough homes hold more than people estimate on the phone, so we'd rather look at it properly and bring the right truck the first time.
Packing and unpacking
Don't fancy boxing up the kitchen? We'll do the whole house or just the fragile things. Boxes, paper and wrap come with us, and we'll take the empties away once you're unpacked.
Storage between moves
New builds run late and settlements shift. We'll hold your furniture securely for a few days or a few months, then deliver when the place is genuinely ready rather than nearly ready.
Interstate removals
Leaving Victoria? Our own crew loads at your Keysborough address and unloads at the other end. Same team the whole way, no depot handover, no wondering who has your things on a Tuesday.
Bulky items
Not everything fits neatly into a box. We'll take extra care when moving bulkier, awkwardly shaped items from one place to another.
Business and warehouse moves
Warehouses through Perry Road and Greens Road, plus offices and shops around Parkmore. We'll work after hours or across a weekend so you're trading as normal the next morning.
